Valley Lutheran Church is a mission congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), a church body of over 1,200 congregations and 400,000 members in all 50 states and 20 foreign countries.

THE PURPOSE OF THE WELS

The purpose of the Synod is to enable congregations of Christians who share a common faith to work together in carrying the Gospel to our country and to the world. Through our Synod we support the establishment of missions in the United States (home missions) and in various countries throughout the world (world missions). Through our Synod we also operate two preparatory schools, a college and a seminary for the purpose of training future pastors, teachers and staff ministers for service at home and overseas.
